It’s very evident now that the policy this summer was to sign players of the right age and background who have the ability and are hungry enough to be in contention for Tuchel’s World Cup squad next summer.
We’ve signed a host of talent (all be it some on loan for the foreseeable) with current under-21 or previous international honours.
Some obviously have more work to do than others but another season in the PL, with enough game time from these candidates and we could well be looking at a whole host of Town players in contention to make the plane: Delap, Hutchinson, Davis, Johnson, Philogene, Godfrey and Phillips (should the latter two sign); injury ridden Hirst unlikely but in the same category.
