Watching wolves vs palace 21:03 - May 20 with 1626 views | bazza | And yesterday Brighton vs Liverpool, we had no chance this season. The quality and intensity combined with the physical athleticism is just crazy. Just big strong powerful players. Liverpool tried playing out from the back and Brighton were all over them like a rash, not sure we are quite as bad as some make out, just the competition was far superior.

The guys a giant. But when you look at the substitutions they can both make as well, it’s mad.

True. Even if we’d had no injuries at all and had good luck in every game we likely would still have been 10 points from safety.

The thing I've really noticed is that they players are all huge athletes, even technical players. Tonali is a great example along with that whole Newcastle midfield. He's a really good player, technically excellent, but he's also a huge unit who can shift it! These sides smother you.
Watching wolves vs palace on 22:23 - May 20 with 1254 views | WubbleU | We were in a mini-league of 3 from the start, but we only know that now (well few months ago). It's not going to to get easier. No idea how we bridge the gap over next season, even if we go back up what would we expect back in the prem? Hopefully a bit better at home but how we come back 15-20 points better...no idea. Got to get academy working but that is a long game and better recruitment especially in europe. So tough as don't see anyone in the top 17 really failing.
Watching wolves vs palace on 04:46 - May 21 with 994 views | RIPbobby | Yeah I think you are right. I think most teams we have played were at it and knew the had to beat the promoted teams and it showed. The biggest team for me was Newcastle. They were a team of monsters. Huge athletes. Luckily at Portman Road they missed all the easy chances... But took the hard ones

So we at least finish as runners up, and go into the last game with a chance of finishing top?

I think you have to improve enough to give yourself a chance and then just get lucky that another team is a basket case or just has a nightmare. Honestly, there's a small chance it could have been Wolves this season if we'd accrued enough points early to pile the pressure on when they were floundering . As it was, the new guy came in and it was too easy for them to pull way - could have been a tougher job if they'd had ground to make up maybe? | | | | Login to get fewer ads
Watching wolves vs palace on 09:52 - May 21 with 507 views | lazyblue | The first real game I noticed the difference in physical presence was Everton, thinking prior to the match this is best chance of the season so far to win and the difference in stature when they walked out was really noticeable. In the game they were then so much quicker and stronger, we never stood a chance this season and did ok considering we have been playing in the league of giants.

I even thought Arsenal would be small technical players, but even Saka isn't small and much belies the fotbmob stats of his height of 5'10, he was 100% taller than me and would have said closer to 6', same for Martinelli, would have guessed a 5'6 lol, but no, he's probably 5'10. The whole team just looked 'big' which really surprised me. Then add in the fact they can all play too lol

Yet people still looking at a front three behind Hirst of Philogene, Hutchinson and Clarke for next season. Not much physicality there just technical ability.

Yes, that game was a wake-up call. If we were to have any chance of staying up, we needed to win a few home games like this one. But once they scored, there was only ever going to be one winner. We managed 2 shots on target in the game despite having the majority of the possession.

Watching wolves vs palace on 11:20 - May 21 with 318 views | Jasper | I was at the Palace vs Wolves game because my neighbour had a spare ticket and the speed that Palace counter is absolutely terrifying - you can see why they have been so successful this season after a tricky start. They had also rested several players, so it wasn't event their full strength team. Wolves just looked like a team of athletic giants, but still with great touch and pace.
