2026 PL Relegation thoughts 15:08 - Aug 19 with 494 views | bsw72 | I know we are not in the PL, but was thinking last night about who we may expect to see in the bottom 3 this year, and even who could make up the bottom 6. Over the first weekend, have Sunderland and Leeds flattered to deceive, or do we think there is substance enough for them to mount a realistic survival challenge. Are Burnley as bad as Day 1 suggests? Is this going to be the season when Wolves, West Ham or Everton drop, and what about the changes at Brentford. Will Man Utd and Spurs have improved? Will the European challenge derail the more established sides like Palace and Forest, and then the current perrenial mid table clubs like Bournemouth, Fulham and Brighton to slip down? Finally is there any risk to the more established top sides like Villa or Newcastle even with their transfer challenges. I have a feeling it is going to be a more enjoyable watch without having to face the pain we went through last season, and we may see a surprise entrant into the bottom third of the table . . .

I would love to see West Ham relegated, but they will sack Potter in October and the new manager bounce will drag them clear. The next two months will give more indication on the promoted teams, one game is far too early to judge especially against "easier" teams. [Post edited 19 Aug 18:16]

Maybe Hammers will survive but they’ll be in the mix. Burnley for sure plus Brentford
