Lost interest and are pocketing the money before they sell up and disappear into the night as so far this window has been underwhelming and it feels like our soul has been ripped out.

We literally had a £20 million deal for Hackney agreed which would have been a Championship record.

But it would have if the player agreed to the move? Therefore, the owners were ok with paying £20m.

Did you sit through Evans losing interest and cutting off the money flow? We had to use blue paint for the touchlines for youth games because we'd run out of white paint.

Does it feel like that now?

Not for me Clive. Rare that any parachute club goes down and doesn't have at least 2 or 3 big players picked off it, I think Delap & Hutchinson were inevitable and neither were going to want to be playing Championship football this season.

Tuanzebe & Burgess we offered deals to, Broadhead wanted out to Wrexham. Morsy wanted a longer deal, and I think we were right not to do it tbh.

Cajuste, Matusiwa, Kipre, Akpom is £7m spent and a further £15m+ committed if we go up. We've tried to spend £20m on Hackney, linked with £17m on the Norwegian lad. I think there's enough evidence we want to spend, but rightly being cautious about where its spent.

You said this a month ago

Remember when by cressi 16 Jul 12:30
We sold Dyer to Newcastle
And rebuilt the side with the money it's the same situation if Hutchinson was to move on under our terms. One player may fund 3 good signings plus.

Now you're giving them less than a week to reinvest the money.

No of course it don't it don't feel like John Duncan days either, but things don't feel right at the moment either I imagine others also get these vibes. Hope I'm wrong who thought the Norwegian lad was even a distinct possibility.

Yes of course they are. That’s why we are bidding £20m for Hackney & £17m for some Norwegian kid none of us have ever heard of until a couple of days ago.

Excellent reply, although I would have preferred the club to have offered Morsy a new 2-year deal. Not for sentimental reasons, but to offer continuity and help whilst new players become integrated into the team.

Get a grip.

I know that you're not, but you sound just like one of the countless, desperate budgie trolls that seem to have been registering on here over the last few months.

100% this.

I read from Kieran Maguire than Burnley had to make £20m profit this PSR window on their return to the PL to ensure they don't breach the rules. It's why they had to sell Trafford for example.

So us being cautious (to a degree) gives us more headroom if/when we go up too. It's not an easy job for Ashton

Try to understand the following:

1. We are favourites for the league.
2. We have a great manager and the nucleus of a strong squad.
3. We have a lot of cash available and a lot of PSR headroom...
4. ...therefore we are shopping in the lower Premier League/elite Championship/elitish foreign markets.
5. ...therefore we have to wait a little to pick up the right players as we've not at the top of the queue for them.
6. If we don't land those targets, we have better backups still available to us than pretty much the rest of the Championship (except maybe Southampton) can lay their hands on.
7. BE PATIENT and stop getting your knickers in a twist.

Bálint Bajner got 6 in 9 last season. Could be a difference maker.
