![]() Thursday, 17th Aug 2006 10:49 Preston North End chairman Derek Shaw has confirmed his club's interest in Town striker Sam Parkin. Yesterday, the Lilywhites and Luton emerged as the leaders in the chase for the former Swindon striker. Shaw said: "Following reports in the press we can confirm that Ipswich striker Sam Parkin is a player we are interested in. As a club we don't normally comment on speculation but news coming out of Ipswich has forced our hand. "However, we do know that we are not the only club interested and we now await further developments." One report this morning claims that Town have accepted bids of £250,000 from both PNE and Luton, although there is as yet no confirmation from any of the clubs involved. Parkin joined the Blues from Swindon for £450,000 a year ago.
