![]() Friday, 1st Sep 2006 10:23 Town are reported to have failed with a deadline day bid for striker Michael Bridges. Instead, the 28-year-old moved from Carlisle to Hull City for £300,000. Former Sunderland and Newcastle man Bridges also reportedly interested Barnsley and Preston North End, having scored 12 goals in 23 games for the Cumbrians last season. It would be no surprise if Jim Magilton had wanted to sign a striker on a permanent deal with Nicky Forster leaving the club, coincidentally joining Bridges at the KC Stadium. Magilton was also showing interest in Coventry's Dele Adebola. Amongst the late deals to go through last night was Shefki Kuqi's £2.5 million move from Blackburn to Crystal Palace, a switch which is likely to have had some bearing on Peter Taylor allowing Jon Macken to join the Blues on loan until January.
