![]() Friday, 1st Sep 2006 14:59 Town fans are on to a winner whatever the score on Saturday when the current side takes on the Team of 2000 in Richard Naylor's testimonial (KO 1.30pm). Former skipper Matt Holland is amongst a host of old boys returning to Portman Road for Naylor's special day. Naylor has had a great response from his former team-mates: “I have spoken to all of the Wembley 2000 side and they have all said they will play, apart from Johnno who has a back injury. He is still planning to come along and be involved even without playing. “Tony Mowbray is going to pull on his boots for the first time in a while and possibly the last time. Veno is also coming along but I hear he is pretty fit because he has been training and playing a bit with Hibs. “Jim Magilton is going to play and I get the impression he is looking forward to the chance of kicking a few of our team now.” The 2000 team will be managed by George Burley, who may use the game as an opportunity to take a look at the current side who face his Southampton team at Portman Road next week. In addition to members of the play-off final side, there are a number of other former players set to tread the Portman Road turf once more. Naylor himself will play for both sides, most likely in a striking role for the 2000 side and in defence for the current team. Fabian Wilnis is also expected to have a foot in either camp. Town are yet to announce a squad for the current side, although we understand that new signing Sylvain Legwinski will not be involved. Naylor will be donating a significant proportion of the money raised from his testimonial year to the East Anglian Children's Hospice, a charity he has been involved with for some years. Tickets for the game are £15 for adults, £5 for concessions and £3 for juniors. Naylor has also released a DVD entitled Richard Naylor: A True Blue which is available from the club shop for £9.99. Team of 2000: Wright, Croft, Wilnis, McGreal, Mowbray, Venus, Holland, Magilton, Reuser, Naylor, Stewart, Davis, Miller, Westlake, Scowcroft, Wark, Bramble.
