Town's U18s fell to a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Southampton at their Staplewood training ground on Saturday morning.

The Blues took the lead early on when Jordan Rhodes scored his first goal since netting in a 2-2 draw against Southampton in October.

Saints drew level when Lloyd James scored before half-time to make the score 1-1.

Rhodes added his second just after the break before Adam Lallana equalised for the home side.

And with 10 minutes remaining, substitute Jake Thomson headed in James's freekick to give the Saints all three points.

Town's U16 side lost 3-2 to the same opposition.
