Boss Jim Magilton has confirmed that he has had Rotherham striker Will Hoskins watched. The Town manager has also been keeping tabs on Scunthorpe pair Billy Sharp and Andy Keogh.

Reports over the weekend linked the Blues with a £600,000 January move for the 20-year-old and Magilton says he has been impressed with what he has seen: "Hoskins is someone we like. Steve McCall watched him on Saturday and we have talked about him, but he is one of many players were are looking closely at."

Sharp and Keogh have also been watched by the Blues management as their goals have taken Scunthorpe to second in League One.

Keogh, 20, has scored five so far this season, while Sharp, also 20, has already netted 17 times. Both are attracting interest from a number of clubs and Town could well be priced out of the market should they show serious interest in one or both of the frontmen.

Magilton has also confirmed that he would like to re-sign Wigan keeper Mike Pollitt on loan in January. However, with Chris Kirkland picking up an injury on Saturday, the Latics currently require his services.

Meanwhile, on-loan defender Ian Miller and his Boston team-mates might not get paid their December wages. The Pilgrims' financial crisis has come to a head after they were denied permission to build a new stadium.
