Knights in Falkirk Plans

Falkirk boss John Hughes has confirmed that Town striker Darryl Knights is very much in his Janaury transfer window plans should his club lose Arsenal's Anthony Stokes. Knights recently spent time on trial with the Bairns and convinced Hughes that he could do a job on loan in the SPL.

Stokes, a former Republic of Ireland team-mate of Billy Clarke, has scored 13 goals in his half-season on loan in Scotland but Arsene Wenger has hinted that he could send the youngster to a Premier League club in England for the remainder of 2006/07.

If that's the case, then Hughes says he will look to FA Youth Cup-winner Knights: "Darryl will score goals. We were fortunate Ipswich gave us a chance to have a look at him and I was very impressed.

"He's a little bit small and lightweight, but he's really sharp with good feet and you get the impression he knows where the goals are.”

The Bairns were also keen on taking Sammy Moore on a loan spell, but the midfielder preferred to remain at Portman Road and fight for his place.

Meanwhile, Fabian Wilnis has revealed that recent Town trialist Marciano Bruma is his cousin: “Marciano is family and I wanted to help him out. Ipswich are looking for a right-back and it might as well be Marciano.”

Bruma's initial spell with the Blues, during which time he watched the Leeds game, was cut short by a slight ligament problem but the Sparta Rotterdam man is expected back in mid-January, having impressed manager Jim Magilton.

The 22-year-old is out of favour with his current club and is available on a free transfer.
