Sheffield United's Steve Kabba is the latest frontman reported to be interesting Town manager Jim Magilton. Last week Blades boss Neil Warnock placed the 25-year-old and seven of his team-mates on the transfer list.

The Lambeth-born striker started his career at Crystal Palace where he failed to make the grade, spending time on loan at Southend, Luton and Grimsby, before joining Sheffield United on a permanent basis in 2002. He has has scored 23 goals in 88 games during a Bramall Lane spell regulary interrupted by injury.

Town fans will remember Kabba most for ending George Burley's management career with a superb performance in Grimsby's 2002 3-0 victory over the Blues at Blundell Park, in which he scored twice and won the penalty which led to the other goal. Burley's tenure at Town was ended three days later.

A Sunday tabloid claims that the Blues are trying to persuade the pacy striker to move to Portman Road, but the 5ft 10in frontman would prefer a return to a London club.
