The Football League's Agents' Fees Report for the six months to 31st December 2006 shows that the Blues spent just £5,000 on agents' fees during that period. In total, the 24 Championship clubs paid £5.5 million.

Town used agents in 20 transactions: 13 new registrations, three updated contracts, one cancelled contract and three loans. In the previous six months the Blues had paid £110,242 in fees.

Southampton were the biggest users of agents, paying out £842,533 over 52 deals. Colchester were the only Championship side not to pay agents a penny.

In total, Football League clubs spent £6.2 million on agents in 2,034 deals, £1.8 million up on the previous six months, although the number of deals was also up from 1,765.

Commenting on the report, Football League chairman Lord Mawhinney said: "The League's new agents' regulations, introduced this summer, have helped bring greater levels of transparency and integrity to the transfer system.

"In making these changes, we fully understood that the culture of paying agents was deeply embedded and would take time to reverse. These figures underline that reality, with clubs spending, on average, more than £30,000 per day.

"However, change is in the air and the FA's new regulations on agents will also help to reinforce The Football League's message to its clubs."
