![]() Thursday, 1st Mar 2007 21:56 Colchester United chief executive Marie Partner has confirmed that her club will seek to share Portman Road with the Blues if they are promoted to the Premiership. In January the U's were told that Layer Road does not meet Premiership regulations and they would have to play elsewhere if they go up. Partner said: "Looking at the alternatives, it would have to be Portman Road." TWTD understands that Town stewards have already been sounded out about the possibility of Colchester spending a season at Portman Road while they wait for the completion of their new stadium at Cuckoo Farm. This has been delayed and the U's are not now expected to move in until the 2008/09 season. Colchester have dropped away from the play-off places over the last month and are currently seven points from sixth in tenth position.
