![]() Thursday, 3rd May 2007 17:31 Central defender Alex Bruce has emerged as a doubt ahead of Sunday's final game of the season at home to Cardiff City (KO 1pm). Bruce's possible absence could open the way for Ian Miller to make his first Town start. Physio Matt Byard told the club site: "Alex reported back after the Leeds game with some swelling around the ankle and knee. "He's not trained this week, but the plan is to look at him over the next day or two and see whether he will be fit enough to face Cardiff. "He's done some swimming, and will take part in some physical work on Friday and we will go from there. There is certainly a question mark over him for Sunday at the moment." If Bruce fails to make it former Bury Town man Miller or Chris Casement could come in alongside Fabian Wilnis at the heart of the defence. The Blues are already without central defenders Jason De Vos and Richard Naylor due to foot injuries. Naylor is set to undergo an MRI scan on the bone bruising to his toe. Loan striker Franny Jeffers is OK despite receiving a kick to his knee at Leeds on Saturday. Get the fastest and most comprehensive Ipswich Town news service at ipswichtown.footballlatest.co.uk.
