![]() Monday, 21st May 2007 08:43 Town's unsuccessful bid for Blackburn striker Franny Jeffers is reported to have been £350,000. Rovers turned down the Blues' offer at the end of last week with the Lancastrians putting an unlikely seven-figure fee on the former England international. Ultimately, Blackburn will almost certainly have to accept a much lower fee for the striker who joined them on a free transfer from Charlton a year ago. One report claims that a £500,000 bid is likely to be enough to land the 26-year-old, who has a year left on his contract at Ewood Park. Town chairman David Sheepshanks says that talks will continue: “Blackburn have put an unaccountably high price on Jeffers, but we are still hopeful an agreement can be reached.” Jeffers has also been linked with Derby, but has said on a number of occasions that he would like to join the Blues permanently having enjoyed his successful loan spell during the second half of the season. Meanwhile, former Town striker Sam Morrow is being linked with a move to Derry City back in his native Northern Ireland having been released by SPL side Hibs. Linfield and Portadown are also claimed to be showing an interest in the frontman, who made one senior appearance for Town after coming through the academy before being released in 2004.
