![]() Friday, 1st Jun 2007 09:00 Martin Brittain will not be offered a permanent deal by Yeovil Town, according to reports in Somerset. Brittain, who spent much of the season on loan at Huish Park, has been released by the Blues with his contract up at the end of June. The 22-year-old made 12 starts and four sub appearances over two spells with the League One club, but wasn't included in the 16 which lost 2-0 to Blackpool in last weekend's play-off final. Brittain joined the Blues on a free transfer from Newcastle last summer after a successful trial spell. The Cramlington-born midfielder's only Town appearance came as a sub in the Carling Cup defeat at Peterborough. The Glovers are keen to keep their other Town loanee, striker Darryl Knights. Manager Russell Slade is reported to have been impressed with the FA Youth Cup winner and will offer him a one-year deal if, as expected, Knights is released by the Blues. The 19-year-old will meet with boss Jim Magilton on the manager's return from holiday. Get the fastest and most comprehensive Ipswich Town news service at ipswichtown.footballlatest.co.uk.
