![]() Wednesday, 6th Jun 2007 10:55 Blackburn Rovers have turned down Town's second bid for striker Franny Jeffers. The Blues are understood to have offered £500,000 for the ex-Everton, Arsenal and Charlton man, with add-ons apparently making up part of that figure. Rovers chairman John Williams said: "We've had a second offer from Ipswich for Franny but it's not one we consider to be acceptable at the moment." The Ewood Park club were recently reported to want £1 million for the 26-year-old, who impressed on a loan spell at Portman Road towards the end of the season. Town appear unlikely to be in a position to offer the seven-figure sum wanted by the Lancastrians, unless they receive a windfall from Darren Bent's move from Charlton, and Jim Magilton may be forced to start to look elsewhere for a new striker. However, a further bid somewhere around the £750,000 mark, including various top-up clauses, could still be on the cards and may test the Premiership side's apparent intention to hold out for £1 million for a player they signed on a free transfer from Charlton last summer.
