Town will face Sheffield Wednesday, one of manager Jim Magilton's old clubs, at home on the opening day of the season on Saturday, 11th August. After taking on the MK Dons in the Carling Cup in midweek, the Blues travel to Plymouth the following Saturday.

Crystal Palace are at Portman Road on the season's third Saturday, followed by away trips to Watford and West Brom with an international week separating them. Town's third home match of the season isn't until Saturday, 18th September when Leicester are in Suffolk.

The first Town-Norwich derby of the season is at Carrow Road on Saturday, 3rd November. The Portman Road match is on Saturday, 12th April. Both games are likely to switch to the Sunday with lunchtime kick-offs as in previous years.

Colchester and the Blues first meet at Portman Road on Tuesday, October 23rd and Town are at Layer Road on Saturday, 5th April.

The Blues visit Leicester on Boxing Day, while the long trip to Burnley is once again scheduled for midweek on Tuesday, 2nd October. Other long midweek trips include the visit to Sheffield United (Tuesday, 6th November) and Barnsley (Tuesday, 11th March).

Town's trip to Blackpool won't be as sun-drenched as many hoped with the Blues visiting Bloomfield Road on Saturday, 16th February.
