Williams Needs to Work
Williams Needs to Work

Boss Jim Magilton says midfielder Gavin Williams has not made the progress hoped for over the summer. The Welshman missed much of last season and rarely trained due to a pelvic problem which saw him undergo surgery.

Williams has spent some of the close season working with Copenhagen based specialist Per Holmich, but Magilton feels the former Yeovil and West Ham man will need to work hard in the weeks to come to attain the required level of fitness: “Gavin has been away for some of the time for the last six weeks and his injury has still not settled down.

“It is still niggling away and he will have to work hard to get it right.

“Gavin has to realise that this is what has to be done to get him 100%."

Magilton has also revealed that there has been no further progress on the Blues' attempts to sign former loanee Franny Jeffers from Blackburn on a permanent basis.
