![]() Monday, 25th Jun 2007 17:29 Striker Dean Bowditch has undergone surgery for his long-standing groin problem. The former England U19 man picked up the problem at the end of last year and the injury prevented the 21-year-old from moving to Brighton for a second loan spell. Physio Matt Byard told the club site that Bowditch is likely to be back in full training by the time the season starts: "It was felt that an operation was required to best aid Dean's recovery. "The surgery went well and we are very optimistic about a good recovery. "Dean has been working on a strengthening programme through the summer and we have been monitoring his progress on a daily basis. The work he has already done will help his recovery post-surgery. "He will now have two weeks complete rest and then begin his rehabilitation and be back in full activity as soon as possible." Brighton, who earlier today signed former Blue Nicky Forster from Hull for £75,000, were recently reported to want Bowditch to return on loan for the 2007/08 season.
