Boss Jim Magilton has wished striker Darryl Knights luck in his career at Yeovil Town. The 19-year-old signed a one-year deal with the Glovers yesterday after being released by the Blues.

Magilton told the club site: "We all wish Darryl well and it's a good move for him.

"He's a young lad looking to progress and that means playing first team football every week. We couldn't offer him that at Ipswich, but he did well at Yeovil while on loan there and we hope it works out for him.

"It's the same with Scott Barron, who has joined Millwall. Sometimes you have to step down to get a foothold in the game. I did the same when I left Liverpool for Oxford. Playing football matches in the first team every week is what it's all about."

Elsewhere, former Blue Dean McDonald is expected to complete his move from Gillingham to Inverness Caledonian Thistle at some point today. McDonald has agreed terms and the clubs have negotiated a fee.

Ex-Town academy striker Alan Connell has left Hereford United to join Terry Butcher's Brentford on a two-year contract.
