![]() Sunday, 8th Jul 2007 10:30 Owen Garvan reportedly walking out on the Blues is the big Town news in Sunday's papers. According to a tabloid, the Irish youngster has vowed never to play for the club again. Fears regarding the midfielder's Town future first surfaced nearly a fortnight ago with widespread rumours claiming the 19-year-old had walked out on football to return to Ireland, rather than simply wanting a move from Portman Road as is being claimed today. TWTD put this to the club and were told the youngster had indeed gone home early to sort out some personal issues, but would be back at Portman Road with the rest of the squad this coming Monday. Town were keen to stress that health and fitness did not figure amongst the reasons for Garvan's return to Ireland. Since then reports elsewhere have indicated that the Blues may be willing to allow the Dubliner more time to resolve his issues, while over the weekend a newspaper story said Garvan would be joining the rest of the squad for the journey to Loughborough University on Monday for a week's intensive training. The Blues' number seven missed much of last season due to post-viral syndrome, but was back to his best by the time 2006/07 came to an end. Meanwhile, Coventry's Dele Adebola is again being linked with a move to Town. Norwich City are also once more linked with the Nigerian. Adebola was previously mentioned in connection with Town last summer, in January and again in May. Early last month, a Coventry newspaper linked the Sky Blues' wish to sign Alan Lee to Town's interest in the 32-year-old, claiming the Blues would receive cash and Adebola in exchange for last season's 17-goal top scorer. Boss Jim Magilton admitted considering the former Crewe man last summer but denied he was still targeting the 6ft 3in tall striker when reports claimed he was back in for him in the winter transfer window.
