![]() Sunday, 15th Jul 2007 10:17 Sunday's tabloids are linking Birmingham City with a move for Town striker Danny Haynes. Meanwhile, Hull boss Phil Brown has commented on his continuing chase for Blues striker Alan Lee. Bruce senior was spotted at Town's pre-season game with Kettering on Thursday and spent time talking to both manager Jim Magilton and chairman David Sheepshanks. Whether the Birmingham boss was there simply to watch son Alex in action or in order to check out Haynes remains to be seen. Elsewhere, Hull manager Phil Brown says talks are ongoing with Town regarding Alan Lee's future: "Paul Duffen [Hull chairman] has tabled a bid for Alan Lee and he is someone that we're interested in. "He's an international-class player and if we are looking to move on to the next level of the Championship, then he can be the type of player that can help us achieve it. "He proved to a lot of people last year that when he's fit and confident, he can score plenty of goals at this level. "He came to the KC Stadium when Ipswich beat us 5-2 recently and he showed just what a real handful he can be. "I'm not going to be discussing figures but there is open dialogue between the two clubs now. "Hopefully, if that dialogue doesn't turn ridiculous and everyone remains sensible, then Alan Lee is a player we are certainly interested in." On Friday, Town turned down Hull's second bid for Lee worth £600,000 and have subsequently opened talks with the striker regarding a new deal.
