Town's U18s drew 1-1 with Leicester City at Playford Road on Saturday morning.

Striker Craig Calver, a first-year scholar, scored for the Blues. Amongst Town's top performers was Jack Ainsley playing in an unfamiliar centre-half role.

Ollie Fenn, last season's winner of the Harold Smith Award for the Most Promising Academy Player, was in match action for the first time this season after a summer bout of shingles. Midfielder Jai Reason was back after an ankle ligament innury sustained in pre-season.

Meanwhile, the U16s lost their game 3-1, Jordan Pavett putting Town in front early on before the visitors hit back with three goals in 15 second half minutes.

U18s: Plummer, Clemo, Ainsley, Fenn, Tooms (Roe 62), Reason, C Williams, Upson, Calver (Hyam 80), Murphy, Rhodes. Unsed: Wark, Clark.
