More than £3,000 of damage was inflicted upon the North Stand by vandals over the weekend. Police are searching for vandals who smashed three windows at the back of the stand.

The incident is believed to have occurred between Friday at 8pm and Monday morning.

A Town spokesperson said: “The windows have been criminally damaged and we reported it to police.

“The road was closed because we did not want any shards of glass falling on anyone. We will have the cranes coming tomorrow to remove the panes and replace them. The road should be reopened after that.”
