Chairman's Fears
Chairman's Fears

David Sheepshanks says he fears promotion to and relegation from the Premiership could be brought to an end. Sheepshanks is concerned that foreign investors may push for the top flight to move to a model similar to sports in the US.

Eight Premier League clubs are now in foreign ownership and the Town chairman says they may seek to protect themselves by securing their top division status: “I fear that the temptation for a growing number of foreign owners will be to think this way as a route to removing the risk factor on their investment.”

Town continue to look for investment of their own with Sheepshanks hopeful that the club will ultimately prove attractive to parties who would be able to significantly improve the Blues' ability to push for promotion.
