![]() Monday, 29th Oct 2007 01:26 Town's U18 side convincingly beat their Millwall counterparts 3-1 at Playford Road on Saturday morning. Midfielder or full-back Nathan Tooms missed out through injury, while striker Jordan Rhodes isn't due to return from his loan at Oxford United until next week. Town made a fine start when captain Curtley Williams opened the scoring after five minutes. Striker Liam Barrett doubled Town's lead on 12 and influential midfielder Ed Upson added the third on the stroke of half-time with a low shot that should have been saved by the visiting keeper. Upson had another chance on the hour mark but his lobbed volley was tipped over by the keeper. Sub Jack Ainsley forced another good save out of the Millwall stopper five minutes from the end, before a Millwall forward reacted quickest to a Plummer save and tucked a late consolation into the net. U18s: Plummer, Clemo, Robinson, C Williams (c), Watson, Smith, Upson (Lambe 68), Reason, Murphy (Calver 79), Barrett (Ainsley 62) and Fenn. Town's U16s continued their fine form with a 2-1 victory over Millwall's U16s — their seventh in a row. The Blues went 1-0 down when Town left-back Phil Roe turned a cross into his own net. However, striker Connor Wickham equalised with a good left-footed finish before Irishman Ronan Murray completed the comeback with a fine individual effort. Town U16s: Ward, Austin, Roe, Eastman, Hyam, Cawley, Brown, Clark, Matthews, Murray and O'Herlihy. Subs (all used): Wickham, Traveller, Capocci, Meekings and Dunbar.
