![]() Monday, 19th Mar 2001 15:05 Town manager George Burley has admitted that there still could be a new signing ahead of Thursday's transfer deadline. It had been reported that Town's spending was up for the season, but George Burley may be set to make one final bid. The Town manager said: "If we can add to the squad with the right player before the deadline then we will do. We have no bids in at the moment, but I’ll be talking to some of my scouts this week and we’ll be discussing the situation." The names that seem most likely to come under discussion are those of Gavin Rae and Mark Kerr. Scottish sources suggest that Town are very interested in Rae who they watched star for Dundee against Rangers last week. George Burley might also have been alerted to Leeds' failure to land Falkirk's Mark Kerr who impressed in a trial at Town recently. 19-year-old Kerr is a prospect for the future and Burley might try to move early to try to bring the player to Portman Road.
