![]() Saturday, 3rd Nov 2007 09:45 Boss Jim Magilton has confirmed that he sees nothing standing in the way of him signing his new contract with the Blues. Last Saturday TWTD reported that Town would offer the former skipper a new deal ahead of the end of his current contract, which is up at the end of the season. Magilton said: “We are in the middle of negotiations and I expect to sort it out soon. There should not be any problems.” The Town manager says he doesn't know how much cash he will have to spend once the deal with Marcus Evans is concluded, but he will be looking at adding a couple of players to his squad in January, while keeping faith with those currently at Portman Road: “Just because we may have money to spend doesn't take away anything from the lads here, who have been fantastic and will continue to be.” Magilton says he was impressed with Evans when the two met: “He is very straight, very honest and he seems to have the football club at heart. He has absolute belief in the club and wants to push it forward. He is very positive and very enthusiastic.”
