Town's U18s fell to an unlucky 2-1 defeat at Southampton on Saturday morning, the Blues goal coming from Luke Hyam. Meanwhile, the U16s took their amazing winning streak to 10 successive games.

The Blues, without central defender Tommy Smith who picked up a knee injury in last week's reserves friendly at Spurs, handed U18 debuts to Seb Dunbar, 14-year-old Connor Wickham and Tom Eastman.

Despite a number of regulars being involved with the U18s and Eoin O'Herlihy missing out due to a cracked metatarsal, the U16s took their stunning run of victories to 10 in a row with a 2-1 win, also over the Saints.

U18s: Ward, Clemo, Hyam, Watson, Dunbar, Murphy, Reason, Lambe (Clark 78), Calver (Wickham 74), Barrett (Eastman 85), Ainsley. Unused: Traveller, Roe.
