New Town majority shareholder Marcus Evans will be represented on the club's PLC board by Martin Pitcher once his takeover is approved by Town shareholders at an EGM. Evans himself will not take a place either on the PLC or club boards.

Pitcher works for Evans's group of companies and will join the board once shareholders ratify the deal at an EGM, now reported to be set for Monday, 17th December at the Corn Exchange, which Evans is not expected to attend. Details of the club's boards under the new ownership will be announced later today.

Town have sent details of the meeting out to shareholders along with a letter from Evans and the club's annual report and accounts.

The accounts reveal that chairman David Sheepshanks and chief executive Derek Bowden have not been awarded bonuses similar to those which caused controversy a year ago, although sales and marketing director Andrew Goulborn and finance director Anna Hughes have received £10,000 and £8,000 respectively.

Town are reported to be speaking to employees this morning regarding matters relating to the takeover.

Evans will take an 87.5% stake in Town, injecting £12 million into the club and purchasing £32 million of the club's debt with Norwich Union and Barclays for a figure understood to be around £8 million.
