McAuley Bid Turned Down?
McAuley Bid Turned Down?

Leicester City are reported to have turned down a Town bid for central defender Gareth McAuley. The Northern Irishman was linked with a £1 million move to Portman Road yesterday.

Foxes boss Ian Holloway is said to be unwilling to sell the former Lincoln man, who has been a fixture in the Leicester defence this season throughout their innumerable changes in management this season.

Meanwhile, Birmingham City defender Martin Taylor is again linked with the Blues by a morning tabloid. Town are said to be ready to offer £850,000 for the one-time England U21 international with the Canaries having previously made a bid of £750,000. Birmingham are said to want a fee somewhere nearer the £1 million mark.

Released academy scholar Liam Barrett is weighing up whether to permanently move to Ryman League Division One North side Bury Town, where he has been on loan since leaving Town before Christmas, or another club. Barrett recently played for King's Lynn's reserves and they may be the other interested side.
