David Norris's father, David senior, has called on Plymouth Argyle to decide whether they want to keep his son or sell him. Norris senior says no talks have been held with his son and no new contract is on the table.

The midfielder's father told a South-West newspaper: “There haven't been any talks at all at the moment. And it doesn't look like there are going to be in the near future, which is strange, really.

"David has been waiting since September for contract talks to open so that he can secure his future, but there has been nothing whatsoever.

"I can't understand why there haven't been any talks yet. Either the club want him and want to commit to him or they don't.

"It should have been resolved before the January transfer window. It's very unsettling for David.

"So far, he hasn't pushed it in any way. He has been happy at Plymouth, but he has got to think about his future as well. He's 27 next month.

"I believe the club have got to state what they want. Do they want to keep him or not?"

Town have had two £1 million-plus bids turned down by the Pilgrims, while Leicester City, Southampton, Norwich and Crystal Palace have all been linked. Norris junior's current contract is up in the summer of 2009, while 50% of any transfer fee will go to the midfielder's former club Bolton Wanderers.

According to reports this morning, the Blues will make one final effort to land Jim Magilton's number one January target before moving on.

Meanwhile, former Northern Ireland international Neil Lennon is today's tabloid link with the Blues. The 36-year-old midfielder is said to be unhappy at League One Nottingham Forest with the Blues and Stoke City interested.

Lennon will be someone well-known to boss Jim Magilton, having played alongside the ex-Leicester and Celtic man for Northern Ireland.

Elsewhere, Magilton says that Barry Robson wasn't the player he was interested in when he watched Dundee United beat Hearts recently: “He is a player I'm aware of. I was at the Dundee United game where he scored a hat-trick, but people have put two and two together and come up with five.”

The Terrors said yesterday they have received no bids for the 29-year-old. Previously it was understood that Magilton went to watch Dundee United as he was interested in goalkeeper Grzegorz Szamotulski, but the Town manager was reported to have denied that the Polish international was his target.

A more recent report suggested that keeper-coach Andy Rhodes joined Magilton on the trip, which may indicate that Szamotulski may actually have been the player the Blues boss was taking a look at after all.

In Ireland, Bohemians boss Pat Fenlon has again denied that he has made any contact with the Blues regarding George O'Callaghan. A number of Eircom League sides have been linked with the midfielder with Cork City the favourites to sign their former player.

In Scotland, Town, Rangers and Colchester United have all been linked with West Ham central defender Christian Dailly. The 34-year-old, on loan at Southampton earlier in the season, is expected to leave the Hammers after drifting out of the first team picture at Upton Park.

Ex-Blues boss George Burley has ruled himself out of the running for the Scotland manager's job. Earlier in the week, Southampton gave the SFA permission to speak to the former international right-back.
