Boss Jim Magilton has confirmed that Town have accepted a bid from Rangers for keeper Neil Alexander and that he is currently in talks with the SPL giants regarding a move to Ibrox. The 29-year-old is believed to be leaving the Blues for a fee of £500,000.

Magilton told the club site: "It is a dream move for Neil and we couldn't stand in his way.

"He is back in the Scotland national squad and we are aware that he is very keen to push his international ambitions and a move back to Scotland will enhance that.

"It has been difficult for his family to settle in the area. Their friends are in Scotland, so a move to Rangers makes sense for many reasons.

"It's a great opportunity for him and we wish him well.

"We are now lining up a replacement from the Premiership and are confident we will have a new keeper in place inside the next 24 hours."
