Falkirk manager John Hughes says he has been looking at taking Town pair Shane Supple and Billy Clarke on loan for some while. The duo joined the Bairns on a half-season loan last Thursday.

Hughes said: "I've had my eyes on these two lads for some time now and I'm delighted that they've decided to come here.

”Shane is a big lad with a good strong pair of hands and with Tim Krul out for a few weeks after dislocating his shoulder at Aberdeen, it will be great to have him here. I know he'll be pushing Robert Olejnik hard for the jersey and that's the way I want things to be.

"Billy is a striker but he can play in a wide role as well, so he'll be a great asset to the squad, especially with Michael Higdon and Dean Holden sidelined through injury.

“Both the new players have extensive first team experience with Ipswich and I'm sure they'll settle in here very quickly."

The pair could face former team-mate Neil Alexander if they make their Falkirk debuts at Rangers next weekend. Alexander could start in goal for the Gers if his club fail to get Allan McGregor's weekend red card overturned.
