Town are being linked with a loan move for Portsmouth striker David Nugent. The England frontman is currently out of action after undergoing hernia surgery last week.

The ex-Preston striker, who was previously claimed to be amongst Jim Magilton's targets early in the transfer window, is likely to be out of match action for at least three weeks, although he is reported to be returning to light training this week.

Town can target loan players from Friday when the emergency loan window opens.
