Jim Sets Nugent Deadline
Jim Sets Nugent Deadline
Monday, 3rd Mar 2008 10:33

Boss Jim Magilton has given Portsmouth striker David Nugent until the end of the week to decide whether or not he wants to join the Blues. Town and Pompey have agreed a loan fee and terms, but Town continue to wait on the player, who is reportedly also a target of Stoke.

Magilton said: “We have everything agreed with Portsmouth and it may be that David is reluctant to come until he is fit and wants to do himself justice.

“We need to get someone in so we will give David until the end of this week to make his decision and then we will go elsewhere.”

Nugent has been suffering with a groin problem but was understood to be back in training in the middle of last week.

If the Nugent move falls through then Town could target Fulham's David Healy, a player Jim Magilton is known to rate very highly. The Blues are also continuing their search for a loan central defender.
