Town's reserves confirmed the Pontin's Holidays Combination League East Division title for the second year running with a 4-0 victory over Grays Athletic at a windswept Playford Road on Wednesday afternoon.

Liam Trotter opened the scoring for Town on nine minutes, following good work from Ed Upson. Upson's right-footed cross was met by Trotter who got in front of his man and headed the ball into the top corner of the net.

Town's second came just after the break, following good play from Jai Reason and Upson which allowed Jordan Rhodes to finish after rounding the visiting keeper.

Northgate schoolboy Billy Clark added a third with a well-hit shot from outside the area, before Upson completed the scoring after a shot from Clark struck the midfielder and wrong-footed the Grays keeper.

Upson and Trotter did well in the Town midfield, whilst full-back Michael Synnott would've impressed any watching scouts following his release from the club.

Reserves: Colgan, Casement (c), Robinson, Reason, Watson (Dunbar), Synnott, Lambe (Clark), Trotter, Rhodes, Ainsley (Daniels) and Upson. Unused: Ward and Clemo. Ref: D Gallagher.
