On-loan Town full-back Danny Simpson says he is unlikely to make a return to the Blues next season. The 21-year-old has been told be will be in Sir Alex Ferguson's plans at Manchester United for 2008/09.

Simpson said: "If Ipswich were promoted to the Premier League I would love to be involved here. As it stands though Sir Alex has told me I'm very much part of his plans and he wants me in his squad next year.”

Meanwhile, keeper Nick Colgan says he would love to stay with the Blues next season: "I said when I came here that I did not come to sit on the bench but it has panned out that way.

"I am happier sitting on the bench here than I was at Barnsley even though I am 200 miles from my family. I felt like an alien up there but here I feel part of it even though I'm on the bench.”

Colgan joined the Blues on a short-term deal in January and is out of contract in the summer.

Elsewhere, Richard Wright, who almost joined Town last summer, is reported to be considering his future at West Ham. Wright, currently on loan at Southampton, is believed want to talk to manager Alan Curbishley about his future when he returns to Upton Park.

In March, Town keeper-coach Andy Rhodes travelled to watch a West Ham reserve side in which Wright had been named, only for the ex-Town stopper to be withdrawn at the last minute due to the loan deal with the Saints.
