Supple Problem a Finger Injury

The injury which forced Shane Supple out of the Irish U21 squad travelling to Malaysia for a tournament next week is a finger problem the club have revealed. The keeper, 21 last Sunday, is to see a specialist to discover whether surgery is necessary.

Physio Matt Byard told the club site that Supple, currently on loan at Falkirk, has not yet been forced out of action by the problem: "I have spoken to Shane and he has a finger injury and will see a specialist on Monday in Edinburgh.

"The joint has been sore for a week or two but it has not stopped Shane training or playing.

"We will know more about the problem next week after the surgeon has seen Shane. It could well be that the finger just needs time to heal at the end of the season."
