Clarke Set to Win 10th U21 Cap

Striker Billy Clarke has been named in the starting line-up for the Republic of Ireland's final game at the Intercontinental Cup in Malaysia this afternoon. The Irish, who have won one and lost one so far, take on Iraq.

Clarke, who will be winning his 10th U21 cap, scored a consolation goal in Saturday's 3-1 defeat to Nigeria and laid on the third in a 3-1 victory over the hosts in the opening game. Ireland have fielded an U21 side in what is an U23 tournament.

Republic of Ireland U21s: Shane Redmond - Nottingham Forest, Eddie Nolan - Blackburn Rovers, Darren Dennehy - Everton, David Elebert – Hamilton Academicals, Shane Lowry - Aston Villa, James Ryan – Shrewsbury Town, James Berrett – Huddersfield Town, Michael Collins – Huddersfield Town, Keith Treacy - Blackburn Rovers, Billy Clarke - Ipswich Town, Stephen Ward - Wolverhampton Wanderers. Substitutes: Paul Skinner – Celtic, Simon Madden – Leeds United, Stephen Maher - Yeovil Town, Mark Salmon – Wolverhampton Wanderers, Karl Moore - Manchester City, Alan Judge - Blackburn Rovers, Michael Spillane - Norwich City.
