Bowden: No Imminent Signings Wednesday, 4th Jun 2008 12:14 Town chief executive Derek Bowden says no additions to the squad are imminent with many football people away on holiday at the present time. The Blues are expected to recruit a significant number of players over the summer as Jim Magilton spends Marcus Evans's millions in a bid to reach the Premier League. Bowden said: "It's a quiet time and early days when it comes to making close season signings. It is a strange time of the year with so many football people away on holiday. "Our ambition remains the same - to gain promotion to the Premier League, and this is what we will all be working towards in the months ahead.†Bowden will now take a leading role in negotiating Town transfers with chairman David Sheepshanks moving to a non-executive unsalaried role last week. Bowden says he will liaise directly with Evans and Magilton: "I am reporting to owner Marcus Evans and working with manager Jim Magilton.†Town's first signing of the summer is likely to be their new international scout with an announcement expected within the week.
