Town's U18 side recorded their second consecutive win of pre-season with a 3-2 win over Brentford at Playford Road on Tuesday afternoon.

Former Brentford manager Martin Allen was present, watching his son Charlie in the Bees' midfield, whilst a few Town first-teamers showed their faces before heading off for their afternoon training session.

The Blues, featuring a couple of trialists as is common in their pre-season games, took the lead on 20 minutes when a neat flick from Reggie Lambe allowed Matt Daniels to break into the area and he fired a shot which beat the visiting keeper.

Brentford equalised in the 34th minute when striker Tom Davis looped a shot over Town keeper Lewis Ward from just outside the area.

In a game that was split into three thirds of 30 minutes, Town regained the lead on 45 when a Joe Clemo cross was headed in by substitute Connor Wickham at the back post.

The Brentford keeper made a number of fine stops during the second period, denying Daniels, Wickham and Billy Clark.

The scores were level again on 53 when a cross from the right wasn't dealt with and Davis was left free at the back post and finished well with a powerful half-volley.

With 10 minutes remaining, Paul Murphy scored the Town winner after strong play from Wickham on the right created the chance for the Irishman.

Town: Ward, Clemo, Dunbar, Hyam, Eastman, Trialist, Cawley, Daniels, Murphy, Murray and Lambe. Subs (all used): Clark, Traveller, Griffiths, Wickham, Trialist, Ralph, Capocci and Brandon.
