Town have recalled midfielder Ed Upson from his loan at Stevenage after a month of what was planned to be a three-month spell. The 18-year-old made only one substitute appearance during his time at Broadhall Way.

Boss Jim Magilton said recently that he was unhappy that the Blue Square Premier side had given the FA Youth Cup final goalscorer so few opportunities.

Upson will now go into the Town reserves side travelling to Northampton on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, defender Pim Balkestein looks certain to miss Tuesday's home game with Barnsley.

Physio Matt Byard told the club site: "Pim was in a lot of discomfort and he has had a scan.

"He had a sharp pain in the mid-abductor region in the left groin and has had treatment as well as the scan.

"We will scan him again on Tuesday when we have allowed the injury to settle down a bit and we will reassess from there.

"At the moment, he is clearly very doubtful for the Barnsley match."
