Jim: Confidence is Growing

Boss Jim Magilton says his side are growing in confidence after their 1-0 win away at Blackpool. The Town manager was pleased with his team's display against the Tangerines.

Magilton said: "This is a difficult place to come but I think we did well. We kept our passing game together and proved very resilient.

"We knew we would have to dig in and deal with the nitty gritty side of the game and I felt we did that very well. We coped with their set pieces in the second half and the players showed terrific application and attitude.

"It's another three points and another clean sheet and we are making progress. We've had back-to-back wins and we are on a decent run of form and confidence is building all the time.

"But we know there is a lot of football to be played yet and we're not getting carried away, just as we weren't getting carried away when things were not going our way earlier in the season.

"There are still things that I want us to do better but over the 90 minutes, the players deserve a lot of credit for their performance."

Goalscorer David Norris also feels that the mood at Portman Road is increasingly positive: "Our morale is on the up and the dressing room is very good. This gave us back-to-back wins and the lads are really pleased.

"We knew it would be difficult today. Blackpool are a hard-working side and we needed to break them down.

"We survived a couple of hairy moments early on but then we started to dominate."

Blackpool boss Simon Grayson admitted his side weren't good enough: "That was possibly our worst performance of the season. Most of the team fell below the standards they have set for themselves this season.

"However, I cannot be too critical. We have had a good run and you cannot win every game in the Championship. I think we are big enough to accept this defeat.

"We had a couple of chances but in the second half we huffed and puffed without displaying any real quality."
