Norris Statement Changes
Norris Statement Changes
Tuesday, 11th Nov 2008 08:57

Town midfielder David Norris's statement made on the club site last night has been amended to confirm that his handcuffs gesture was indeed intended as a message to jailed former team-mate Luke McCormick. In the original version put out last night Norris denied any communication with his former team-mate.

The second paragraph of Norris's statement now reads: "I would like to stress that I made no handcuff gesture but it was a small private gesture to Luke McCormick that was not meant to cause offence to anyone. I can now see how my actions have been misinterpreted and for that and any distress that this has caused the Peak family I am truly sorry. I would never act so insensitively after such a tragedy.”

Yesterday, Town fined Norris and warned him regarding his future conduct.
