![]() Friday, 14th Nov 2008 12:04 Norwich City boss Glenn Roeder says this morning's national newspaper reports linking Alex Bruce with a January move to Carrow Road are nothing more than speculation. Bruce was also mentioned in connection with Preston North End and Burnley. Roeder said: "When somebody looks like they're going to leave their club, what with agents these days, they create speculation to see if there is anyone out there that suddenly comes forward because of the speculation in the papers. "You need to use other football clubs to create speculation and obviously someone has done that with Alex as far as I'm concerned. "We've seen Alex play; we've seen lots of players play. Like his dad, he's a tough boy, but that is just pure and utter speculation and I would think they've probably chosen us because of the links his father had.†Bruce, who was also linked with Italian sides Fiorentina, Genoa and Napoli over the weekend, is out of contract with the Blues next summer and, with no new deal on the table, looks likely to leave Portman Road during the transfer window.
