Veteran Hull City striker Dean Windass is the latest player to be linked with a transfer window move to the Blues. The 39-year-old has rarely featured for the Tigers since clinching them promotion to the Premier League and looks all but certain to leave the KC Stadium in January.

Windass is set for talks with manager Phil Brown today regarding his future after Hull accepted a loan bid from League One Hartlepool, while Oldham, Doncaster and Town are understood to have offered similar deals.

The 5ft 9in tall Hull-born striker or midfielder started his professional career with his hometown club and subsequently spent time with Aberdeen, Oxford United, Bradford City, Middlesbrough, Sheffield Wednesday and Sheffield United before returning to the East Riding in 2007 and helping the Tigers into the Premier League, netting the winning goal in the play-off final at Wembley.

Meanwhile, former Blue David Geddis looks set to be named as Cork City's new manager today.
