![]() Friday, 18th May 2001 10:03 Richard Wright has confirmed he will be signing his new deal once a few minor details have been sorted out. Earlier both George Burley and his agent Jonathan Barnett had said a deal was imminent. The Town keeper said: "It is fantastic here and I'm loving it. It is great to be involved in such a brilliant atmosphere. For Ipswich to be in there with the likes of Liverpool and Leeds United, challenging for a Champions' League place is amazing. It is a great feeling for all of us and as a local lad it is even more enjoyable for me." Wright goes into hospital for his hernia operation on Monday and misses England's summer games with Mexico and Greece. He won't miss the beginning of Town's 2001/02 season. Footie journalist Danny Kelly has named Titus Bramble and Hermann Hreidarsson in his best XI for 2000/01. In his column on Football 365 the Spurs supporter, whose brother is a Town man, also named Matt Holland and Marcus Stewart amongst those who came close to making the side. Titus is described thus: "He looks like the world’s biggest baby. He plays like a jet-propelled JCB." Which seems to give the right impression, although I'd be wary if I was Mr Kelly meeting Titus; you don't call centre-halves 'baby'. Hermann doesn't look like a baby, but instead resembles: "Jonah Lomu played by Dolph Lundgren." Which is about right.
