Defender Alex Bruce says he may have played his last game for Town, having been left out of the 16 in recent weeks. The 24-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season and has turned down the offer of a new deal at Portman Road.

Bruce, who is currently away with the Republic of Ireland, says he may not get another opportunity to play for Blues before the summer: "I don't appear to be in the Ipswich manager's plans right now, and have worries whether I will between now and the end of the season.

"The manager picks what he feels is his best side, and that is fair enough. But I have been left wondering whether I have a future at Portman Road.”

Bruce has been left out of side since the back-to-back defeats at Preston and at home to Southampton, although he was an unused sub for the 0-0 draw at Wolves.

The former Birmingham man was linked with various clubs prior to and during the January transfer window, including Preston, Norwich, Burnley, Leeds, Nottingham Forest, Fiorentina, Napoli and Genoa.

The central defender or full-back turned down the offer of a new two-year deal in January. Last week, chief executive Derek Bowden told TWTD that no new talks had recently taken place with Bruce's representatives.

Bruce is one of 13 players out of contract in the summer, along with Shane Supple, Iván Campo, Dan Harding, Chris Casement, Dean Bowditch, Liam Trotter, Kurt Robinson, Matt Richards, Billy Clarke, Tommy Miller, Jai Reason and Ed Upson.

Campo will automatically receive a one-year extension to his Town stay if he makes a set number of appearances, although the Blues could offer the Spanish veteran even if he doesn't reach this undisclosed milestone.
